Free Schoolroom Outfit for the Paper Doll

Victoria is a Scholar!

(Please read the red letter guidelines for use at the bottom of this post. This outfit has taken much time and effort in order to make it ready for the free use being offered today. Thank you for respecting this gift.)

She really loves to ride her bicycle, or to go hacking through the countryside with her friends on one of her grandmother's horses, but our Victoria also loves the study of foreign places. She is learning to improve her foreign language skills, along with her study of history.

Her grandmother's library has many treasures on its shelves, including the one that Victoria is now holding. This is a very old Geography book, an 1865 edition, written initially during the 1500's by a Renaissance explorer. This was later translated into English and later edited by a man named Clements Markham. The author is the famed explorer of Peru, a man named Pascual de Andagoya, who lived a very adventurous existence. Born 1495AD (or CE), his life would end in the year 1548AD or (CE).

Victoria is fascinated by distant places and their history. She is excited to begin traveling again, now that she is back home in Great Britain and residing at her grandmother's London house. Her summer visits with relatives and friends in America has reminded her of her genuine enjoyment of the process of travel.

Her grandmother wishes to make it possible for her to have some more advanced schooling before she's finished growing up. She is thinking of enrolling Victoria in a special academy for young ladies, in order to foster her granddaughter's inquisitive temperament. During her holiday time off Grandmother Lacey intends to spend time with Victoria abroad, perhaps even on the classic Grand Tour.

The Display this time will be of the newer look, the choice with the fair hair. This outfit might end up being given two or more color ways for you to choose from. This first (or possibly only) one will be a lovely combination of grayish blue skirt paired with a softer blue blouse.
Happy Creative Playtime!

Back to School Graphics for Digi or Print

3 Back to School Image Sets 2 Ways

We love to be flexible around here, and so tend to offer our guests a certain number of options or choices. All 3 items are offered in 2 ways, Digi PNG for our Digital crowd, and Print JPG for our copy and glue crowd. I love to utilize both ways, myself, and hope our guests can relax, knowing they are among friends.

All of the children are charming, aren't they? Personally, my very favorite image from all of what we offer here is the one of the girl posing from a side view with a smile on her face. Her caption reads: " 'Draw me portrait, please, sir.' The load consists of school books and hobnail shoes." I love her dignified and very glad smile. I think she must have been a very interesting young person to have known. But then, I really do love children everywhere.

Our later version of the sheet music cover has been recreated considerably until it became a frame for you. I also enjoy the initial image it came with. It is offered both ways, for your enjoyment.

Primary Color Fun!

Our friends at Gingersnap Creations are always coming up with new ideas for using color, materials, themes, and good products. We're following them again this week with their salute to children via the three primary colors of red, yellow and blue. Last month, we were all about Steampunking it up online, with lots of somber tones with aged metallics, so this truly is a nice way of working in full blown color again.
Below, you'll find we really stretched ourselves this month with a larger than ever offering to fit our theme. It's taken 3 days to prepare this one, but it was sheer pleasure all the way around.
There are two background collage pages, along with our first ever homemade clipart alphabet in red "Dotted Swiss."
Digi artists will find more than one way to go, while our Hands-On or Print crowd can easily utilize all but our 3D style alphabet. We're sorry about that last bit. One of the digital processes used produces a strong shadow effect which did not reproduce well enough to make it print-worthy. In the final analysis, we decided to offer that 3D alphabet in Digi format only. But all the rest of our designs print well enough that you should have very little, if any, difficulty there.
All designs were executed from the ground up, from the patterned works they were based on. We had a little help, of course, from Digi Brush Artist, missgmoore. Also, our alphabet is based on a Digi font called Carbono, which the fine people over at dafont.com offer for free, along with lots of other choices. Hope you'll visit all 3 links we've listed here when you get the chance.
Happy Creativity!

Leather Cutouts & Frames

These leather cutouts remind me very much of the crafts projects we kids used to run across when still in grade school. When I wasn't on the playground, or running through a sprinkler, I generally had a mind to get crafty, and I'll bet most of you felt the same way.
Our sets today include both Digi and Hands-On varieties to choose from. In them, I think you may find there's more to play with than usual. This leather just begged to be played around with, and using the "cookie cutter" features in PSE8 became the fun way to go.
I love doodads, don't you? ;)
Lots of 'em here, along with a few frames, a background or two, and so on.
Digi artists, please make certain you click on the link marked "Digi PNG", and Hands-On artists may want to look for the label, "JPG Print."
Hope you'll enjoy playing around with our autumn cutouts, frames, &c, right on into our upcoming season.
Happy Creativity!

Scattered Leaf Design 3 Ways!

Well, all's back to as normal as it ever gets here at our Studio. I've got one funeral behind me, and one wedding ahead of me. This is an eventful summer, to say the every least! From grieving to rejoicing, all in one short season. Let's hope the rest of our year lets me catch my breath better.
As promised, the flawed item from 5 posts ago is now up and ready for use. You can look for it to be posted within minutes of this post going up.
This time, we've added more color choices in 3 new "flavors."
Also, for those of you who took my word for it that all's well with the originals in this particular post, please note I found 4 more errors and have fixed them for you.
Guess I've been overly distracted of late, including today, when I was rushed off my feet with the comings and goings of 5 separate visitors. Glad I caught the error margin before I would have misled any future visitors here.
Hope you'll enjoy all of our scattered leaf design versions!
As for this blog's hostess, I'm ready for some down time in preparation for tomorrow's wedding. *whew!*
Happy Creativity!

Seeing Double: A Young Musicians Club Rehearses

Hi, all. This time, we thought there should be a departure from the past month's activity here at PPS, and so it has been decided to post our stereoscopic photo of our young gentlemen below. The details are so much fun!
This particular offering came by way of the local Antiques Mall where they offer loads of yummy, fun things crying out to be posted for your use. Despite its beat up condition, I love this one especially. I found the subject matter irresistible!
I know of not one young fellow their age today who'd be willing to wear those striped stockings with short trousers! LOL I think most of us would agree that had to be less than comfy, certainly less than fun to knock about the old schoolyard in. Dollars to donuts, their clothes were predominantly made of woolen fabric. In those days, often this would have been the case--for stockings as well!
Anyway, I hope you'll find this fun new doubletake easy to use in a wide variety of projects.
Happy Creativity!

Back To School Imagery from 1910

Today's post might seem a bit out of synch if you live back east. Hereabouts, though, classes will soon start, so we thought we'd offer these two images today.
The first is a trio of girls sharing a book. They all look delighted, don't they? This comes in both colorways.  And our second offering comes with two looks, both black and white, one with a heading beneath the classroom picture, and one without. All of our offerings this time come at 400dpi, which means they may well surprise you with how clearly each may enlarge for your use.
Here's to Back-To-School Time!
Thanks for stopping by!
