Victoria's Evening Wrap

Victoria Goes to the Theatre

Note: This evening wrap probably will not fit the New look Victoria Doll. I am currently working on adding some more new clothes and outfits to the New Look Doll's wardrobe. Please be patient. This might take me a while. Thank you.

During the Victorian era, ladies both young and beyond would seldom be without a wrap of some sort, whether for daytime use or evening wear.

For the opera and theatre (refined pastimes in Victoria's day), many ladies wore lovely outer garments just like this one.  Note the many frills and the embroidered details. It is difficult to imagine wearing something so ornate when nowadays we seldom bother over such fantastic attire.

This time, Victoria has gone to visit her Aunt Mathilda in London, where the two have spent an enjoyable evening among friends at a West End theatre production of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. For this, our Victoria simply must wear her very best upon her arrival! Note her gloves and the pretty fan. Every detail mattered in Victoria's day and era!

I collect paper dolls, and I absolutely love this paper doll. The doll itself is beautiful, and the clothes are lovely! I just wanted to say thank you!

You are so welcome!
We loved her at first sight, and so decided to fix her up and make her a bit more usable. She actually needed some work at the time. Believe me--it was a labor of love, as we love paper dolls, too!
We hope to be able to offer an outfit or two over the coming months, so stay tuned!
Thanks for stopping by!

When young, playing with paper dolls was one of my joys. I did not have any like this tho. Mostly cut out from a catalog.

We played with them too. And I personally really love paper dolls. I can recall being given a kit in which there were pretty bits of patterned papers for use in making one's own paper doll clothes.
Playing with Victoria, and using Photoshop is like a childhood dream come true! So glad you enjoy the same style we do!

Sim!
Hello, dear artistic pal of mine! You have chosen my second favorite out of Victoria's wardrobe. Her Bathing or Swimming Costume has actually fit her the best, but this is a very lavish piece of outerwear. I could not resist its charm, and actually altered and painted it myself prior to offering it here.
Thank you for the support. Honestly, I simply love your work!
I will be by to see your latest work soon, I promise!
:)
