Color Play Using Pantone's 2016 Colors

This year's Pantone Colors are Serenity and Rose Quartz.

Please see the Credits and red letter Guidelines at the base of this post. Thank you.

NOTE: There are 1/4 inch margins on the Collage Pages. Please change the settings on your home printers to match this size.

Pantone is a unique company that provides color guides for printing industry standards as well as colors for fabrics and decor, etc. I use RGB based colors with Photoshop, and knew that Pantone provides RGB versions of their color swatch system. (To learn more about the history of the Pantone company, you can go HERE.)

And sure enough, once I had learned about the 2016 color choices announced weeks ago, I went in search of the matching RGB code for the same 2 color ways. For their main page on the subject, you can go HERE. Or you can simply watch the following short video!

And aren't they pretty? I've had so much fun playing with these two hues, that I actually lost track of time!

I'm starting with an ATC or Artist Trading Card set of 6 designs that combine the two Pantone colors. Following that, there will be several choices, 7 all told, from which to choose.

Please be aware that there are copyrights attached to every one of these due to the digital brushes being used for them.

Rose Quartz tops the list, followed by Serenity and various combinations of the two for you to play with. If the collection will do well, I may have a few ideas as to how to accessorize it in a second post.
:)

Happy Colorful Creativity!

2 Tag Sets in New Colors

Two new tag sets + two new matching collage pages are included in this post.

It all started when I finally took the time to begin sorting my messy filing system. (This could take months!) There it was (tucked away n the wrong place), a lovely older version of my favorite antique marble paper. I hadn't realized that I'd kept the original. Into Photoshop it went then, and after several minutes of experimenting with a few new colors, I was glad that I'd tried. To this was added a second marble paper, this time smaller and deeper in tone, but equally pretty. This has given a two-toned look throughout these Gift Tag Sets.

I think that the following sets might look well with either silver or white tissue paper, or perhaps plain silver regular wrapping paper. Silver and white curly ribbons might be very festive, likewise. But you decide!

Book Artists Set #6

If the shoe won't fit....
....make art with it! Both shoes in today's set have matching marble collage pages, one of each color. You'll notice, of course, how their colors would also go nicely with yesterday's Tag Sets, found at this link HERE.

In other words, today's finishing post includes Digital PNG and Print JPG versions of the Accessory Set, plus one page each of the pretty marble paper in the matching color way. So now you may use any one of the components in this collection for either gift wrap purposes and/or for your book design.

Please read the red letter Guidelines below before use. Thank you.

Included here is also a link to a fun freebie site called Mirkwood Designs. At the site may be found a number of fun and pretty templates for making fancy and special paper boxes, etc. There are also Instructions there, and these are free as well.
You are allowed to sell whatever you make using Mirkwood Designs' template collection, although you may not sell the artist's templates as is. Ruthann Zaroff has been very generous with her gifts of many multi use templates there at her site, so let's be generous in return by being fair to her. (NOTE: You are not required to donate to the site, although perhaps a few dollars might help Ruthann's site to keep supplying the public with free, fun design ideas and items)

For a shortcut to her Template page, you may follow the link HERE. Personally, I like her little gift boxes best of all, although her envelope collection and her ATC templates are really quite nice, too.

Happy Gift-giving Creativity!

Free DigiScrap Ocean backgrounds

Oceanic Beauty Backgrounds
PPSDigiScrap™ Oceanic Beauty Set Part 2

This new set began ages ago. I can't even recall exactly when every part of it was initially found and processed. Please read our credits and the red letter guidelines below these images.

It all begins with the background, and so that will have to be the first thing to supply our fellow DigiScrappers, Book Artists, Collage Artists, and Crafters with today.

This Background comes in 2 sizes, and in 7 color choices for each size. One is For Print, the other mainly Digi, unless you happen to have a Printer with the 12 inch by 12 inch size format option.

HINT: It is recommended that, if you should decide to use the Print version that is the smaller of the 2 being offered today, that all margins be adjusted on your computer's printer. The smaller, the better. Some printers allow for no margins at all. Even one eight of an inch would accommodate the best part of the smaller size here.

Soon to follow will be the Accessory Sets, some items from which were used in the Examples, shown in today's earlier post. These come in several different color ways and with many creative options to choose from.

But now for the Backgrounds. First will be the For Print Size, followed immediately by the DigiScrap size. This will be true for every color. All colors currently available in the set will be listed in this post, and in both sizes.

Happy Creativity!

Free Decorative Frames

Plush Page Frames for SOC5!

Sorry to be so late to the party, but at last we have an entry for the SOC5 challenge for the week!

That challenge? Two Purples, One Yellow.

I LOVE purple, as anybody who knows me can tell you, so this was an extra fun challenge, even though there wasn't much time for it this week.

We went over the top this time by using more than was suggested, and hope that Kristin will not mind (are you kidding?--we know that this wouldn't bother any true lover of color!). We've taken her wonderful idea for us to use two purples and then made use of a few more as well. This was really fun! As for the yellow part of the prompt, we decided to play upon that theme by using a goldenrod color for the one frame and metallic yellowy gold for the two others that are not all purple in tone.

The basic "fabric" of the frames is all from scanned imagery by our Studio, being old fashioned end paper from an antique book. We've changed it and used some software which allows us to make frames, and then added a few touches to these frames to keep it a little more interesting for you.

I suppose, by choosing to go beyond the bounds of the rules, that we have cheated just a wee bit. You could call it "Several purples, two yellows" instead, if you care to.
;)

We hope our guests will enjoy this little offering of purple and gold in good health along with their
Happy Creativity!

NEW Collage Backgrounds In Fall Colors

As our summertime fun is rounding the corner towards our change of seasons again, I thought I'd post a bouquet of new colors for our back-to-school time upcoming. I really love this set. The basis for the main version is a Victorian book's patterned liner sheet, altered differently than I had done before. It's funny how it got set aside at one point in favor of some other imagery. On a whim, I was perusing at leisure the archives under "Unused," and there it was! A lively crayon box of "Impressionist Wallpapers"! These are really meant for a rainy day, but despite our sunny weather here, I just found I could not resist posting them today.
Happy Creativity!
Rose

Wild Papers!!!

Okay, so I'm caught red-handed! I LOVE to play with the pretty papers!
{Somewhere, the Victorian graphic artist who first designed the basis for today's entry has to be turning in her/his grave!}
Now that we've got that out of the way, here are my wild experiments in colorizing antique patterned papers for your use. We did a test print, and though we found the turnout to be softer than they appeared on screen, they were certainly still wild enough and loud enough to play with. Just think of this as the tie-dyed T-shirt art of this blog. Maybe I let March madness take hold for a minute or two. Suffice it to say, we like these, and hope you can use them for your various creations. Call me crazy, but here they are!
Happy Creativity!

MORE Pretty Papers For Your Pleasure

After conducting a series of test prints at our home office, we have determined that much of what came before our recent conversion to our higher resolution format is simply substandard. It will not meet our standards for the better print-off.
Now, granted, what we did already seems to have helped tolerably well enough to where our newest offerings at least top what we had up before. We are still in the process of remodeling our entire outlook on what is printable and how to give you our best.
To that end, our team is beginning to keep close tabs on any printable work we place online. This means, from time to time, we may find we must pull from our online offerings any or all items found not to meet our standards.
We are trying it again this week, and are welcoming any comers for feedback on past printing along with any taken here of the newer stock recently.
Ultimately, it is how we serve our crafts community which is mattering most here. So do say something if you can see a problem developing. We'll take it all in stride, and try to do our best for you.

Meanwhile, here is the best the office could produce out of our stock from past efforts here at the Studio. This updated version is by no means an identical offering, mainly because those colors we offered at outset would fade out into a blur. What looked right on screen simply had no color or "pop" once printed. While we have tried to remain faithful to those colors offered before, no amount of trial and error has yielded the results we had hoped for you to here today. it is hoped it any future offerings will neither disappoint nor turn away those whose presence makes this fun project of ours truly worthwhile.

In short, here are the New Colors for the same project from one of our earlier offerings.
Thanks so much for your loyal support through any changes and/or growing pains we might encounter!
Rose & Studio Friends

Please be kind by never repackaging for sale any of our offerings here. They are meant to be free to the public permanently.
Also, please do not take credit for any works which were never yours.
Thank You
The Studio
