Final Post for Steampunk Month!

Hi, all. It's about 11:30 here on a Sunday morning, and I'm relaxing and thinking about our new month just around the corner.
In our final tribute to this month's theme over at Gingersnap Creations, we offer 3 different sets with an edge on travel, steam style.
It's been a lot of fun, following along and keeping with our theme. I'm almost sad to let it go for a while. But, with so many new ideas, themes and fun projects to inspire me always coming to the fore in our blogosphere, I'm guaranteed of a good time year round even without Steampunking it up.
Time to bid adieu to Mona and her fab getup. We may see her lurking here a time or three before the year's end, just maybe not attired in so steam powered a manner. I love goofing on Mona! Hope you do too. ;)
Below, you'll note that, as before in our series, we've included more than one format to choose from. Our PNG sets are for strictly digital use (although they may still print, who can say), while our JPG Downloads are more easily accessed for hands-on style uses.
Those of you who are new to us may wish to note here how our display versions (the ones you see here) are not only inferior to those Downloads available, but they aren't even print-worthy. We like to urge our readers always to choose for the higher quality versions we offer. This means you'll not only get the clarity of our best versions, but you hopefully won't be disappointed, either.
We generally set to scan at 300dpi, while the display versions on our blog are generally set at 96dpi (or our shorthand for it, "96PX"). This is calculated to make certain we aren't using too many KBs of our online storage.  Just a general heads-up so everyone will be on the same page.
Hope you're having a grand time Steampunking it with us. I've personally had enough fun to want to play with our Steampunk style all year long.
Happy Creativity!
Rose

New! Collage Background Freebie--Steampunk Style!

Winding up our month of fun with the Gingersnap Creations theme of Steampunk, we now include a brand new background for you.
This one we hope will bring a smile. And isn't it just right for layering, glazing, playing around with? Just enough room for playing with the theme your own way.
We doctored it a bit, starting with a change-up to its colorway, then added our own brand of fun to the overall theme using a few of the Digital Brushes from our favorite freebie brush site, Obsidian Dawn.
Below, you'll find our example, set at 96 dpi (digital pixels/ inch). For those of you new to the scene around here, you may want something a little finer in quality than this example. For that, you've only to click on the word "HERE" next to the phrase including "Download" in order to find the same artwork for your use at 300dpi instead. The difference is essential, especially once the work is in process.
Those of you used to the routine--you know what the difference is, don't you? ;)
Happy Creativity!

Final Three Days For the Gingersnap Creations Steampunk Express! (with correction for download Set 3)

Our post today is all about inventors of the past and those inventions they offered the world. Included are some hopefully new ways for us to play around in this month's theme of Steampunk.  Also, those with digi capabilities may want to look for a few digi stamps in some places on the sheets below. Our inspiration started with  Gingersnap Creations designating all of the month of July as steam powered by design. This got followed by some fun over at The Three Muses, and with us discovering the wonderful land of Dezinaworld.
Needless to say, it's been a busy month, packed with so many creative new ideas coming to us from friends, it's enough to get me going all year long!
This weekend will be our last chance for the month long celebrating we've come to enjoy. So we're pulling out all the stops through the weekend with more Steampunk fun than you can shake a stick at.
Our readers will find at least two more offerings in the next two days. Hope you all will like what you see!
Meanwhile, as plans are going forward for the many holidays upcoming, along with school being in session in most places once more, there'll be more non-steamy additions to this collection here shortly.
For more in our Steampunk collection of imagery, you can go HERE.
Let's make it a Steam Powered weekend!
Happy Creativity!

Steampunk Extravaganza Part 2: "Gents"

Well, as promised, here are those gents and their fun bits of ephemera for you to reassemble at will.
I have a special fondness for our fellow with his arms crossed, looking so stern! He deserves to get himself a new  steam powered 'do, wouldn't you agree? We offer him both ways: rough cut or refined--take your pick! ;)
And dig those racy Steampunk "rollerblades"!!!!! Ahead of their time or what?
And, as was mentioned here previously, we've begun factoring in a few PNG format pics for the Digi crowd, along with our usual Hands-On print versions in JPG format. You can look for us to continue in the same vein whenever time allows.
Digiscrappers, you get one whole set to yourselves. But I think you may find our other PNG offerings to be just as diverting and easy to use.
We'd like to thank our inspiration for this month's theme, the wonderfully talented people of Gingersnap Creations, along with our equally creative friends over at The Three Muses for starting us on our month-long (but near at an end!) journey through the fascinatingly funky world of Steampunk!
Please do remember to give us credit when using any of our offerings. Thank You.
Also, do let us know what you are doing with those items offered--we might post a few words about your work here and link with you in our shared effort. Remember--it's all Free here at PPS!
For more Steampunk items, please check out our Steampunk Category HERE. And thanks for stopping by!
Happy Steampunk creativity, all!

It's a Steampunk Digiscrap Extravaganza!

Have you been "Steampunked" like our Mona Lisa? If not, you're in very good company, as you can see by our new sets below.
You know how much I dearly love my Steampunk. And this month's fun theme, provided by Gingersnap Creations, followed by us here along with all our good friends over at The Three Muses, has given us such a grand time of it, it's hard to stop!
This afternoon's post is all about our theme, and it's jam packed with sprockets/cogs, ladies and their "unmentionables" plus footwear (as with Steampunk fun, a girl can never have enough pairs of shoes!). And all our elements are ready to be played with in Steampunk style!
We plan an alternate route for the Gents next time, but today it's Ladies Only! ;)
Digi artists will find plenty to do, while our Hands-On crowd will likewise find a whole host of things worth playing with. For Digi, you can download any of the PNG files offered. For Hands-On product, please make certain to download only a JPG version of each of your choices.
If you happen to be a new visitor, we highly recommend visiting our entire Steampunk category, found HERE.
Look out! Because from now until month's end, we intend playing with this theme each day. Hopefully, we'll have time for a regular post or two. But for now, we'll call it good while it's all about the steam! (And doesn't the lady with the feather boa look pretty much like a deer caught in the headlights?LOL)
:)
Happy Creativity!

Just for Fun: Beauty & the Beast ColorMe™ Page

Good Morning, all! It's about 9:30 here at the Studio, and it's time to take a wee break from our month-long Steampunk theme. I'm ready to bring out the colored pencils for this one myself!
Isn't our heroine's expression sweet? And isn't her un-beasted beast a handsome gallant? They're gazing at one another with such tenderness (ah!--young love!). And the garden is so pleasant, it's the perfect backdrop for the scene.
I just love this whole illustration. It came to us in our wanderings over at Wiki Commons, but required a little bit of work before it could be usable for most kids. It's been resized for print, cleared up, and refined a tad bit, just for fun. Hope you'll enjoy its look like I do.
Now. Time for my morning perusal of the yard and garden......
Happy Coloring!

Collage Freebie: "Steampunk Travelog: France"

If there's one thing I love, it's a good theme. This month, our main theme has been Steampunk, with all of its different flavors. This was due to the wonderful world of Gingersnap Creations, their teaming up with Dezinaworld, and then still more fun with our friends over at The Three Muses
Needless to say, our glasses are all steamy owing to all the doings, and our accessories are now elegantly rusted and/or cogged, and even steam powered!
And, with but a few days remaining in which to dabble in our favorite color scheme, how can we resist posting along the same lines yet again?
I mean, it's too fun to stop!
Hate Steampunk's look and theme? (I shudder to think!) fear not, good reader! For we'll be shortly back to normal, posting many more items which cannot be said to fall under the same heading. ;)
Once again, you have your choice of ways to go here. Our Digi crowd likes everything borderless, while the Collage Printables crowd prefers a wee bit of wiggle room for their home print setup.
Please look for the "PNG" feature, if you're into Digi, and for "JPG" if you're into Printables.
Happy Steampunk Crafting!

Having Fun With Mona's Wardrobe

Okay. The poor old girl just simply isn't all "put together." Her hat, her jewelry, her lighting fixture with pressure gauges, all say "Steampunk," but I suspect she wishes to be shown something else.
Here we have it!
What every well dressed society Steampunker is wearing this summer. Perfect for summer evenings out at, say, a night spot like the Moulin Rouge, or for a visit to the Louvre to show off one's refined corsetry or stylish waistline.
Our Pressure Gauged Steam Powered Electrified Summer Evening Gown will fit Mona's bill--of that there is no doubt! And, with her fetching accessories, she'll fit right in at the Folies Bergere!
So here's to Mona!
And Thanks, Dezinaworld, for our team's newest inspiration, that gorgeous, glorious, rusty, wonderful pressure gauge from your collage sheet, purchased from you by a team member earlier this month!!!!
Happy Summer Evenings Out, everyone! ;)
Rose

Be kind and please don't copy me. Let's both appreciate each other's differences instead of breaking the bonds of fairness.
And Thank You for that courtesy.

Our Banner

This is the final week of our fun with the  Gingersnap Creations July theme of Steampunk, so we thought we'd go for it all the way! You may recall we also were a part of the "I've been Steampunked!" challenge over at The Three Muses a couple of weeks ago, during which I came up with our Steampunked Mona. It was then decided to recreate her, just for this occasion, in a new header or banner. So look for her to stay up for a little while.
Just a note, for those curious as to where the Possum Self Portrait Artist has gone. She and her two friends will be back again soon, rest assured.
Back to Steampunking around!

Plush Page Frames: Celtic Knotwork Beauties

It's not yet 9:00 AM here in the Studio,  and I'm in love with this morning's post! Haven't even had my breakfast yet, and I'm ready to rhumba!
And aren't they something? I love every color! And the possibilities seem endless for what they may be used with. Dig the wee lizards at the bottom whose tails become entwined! And I really like that title space at center near those lizards.
I've posted them at "XLarge" size here so you can really see every detail before making your choice.
So, without further ado (partly 'cause my bran flakes are calling me!LOL), here they are.

Happy Birthday Dear Amy!!!!!

Well.
What a day it's been for the Studio. Hope our friend's birthday's been better--a truly wonderful day for her.
Almost wasn't able to post again while it's still her birthday! Problems scanning, thunder showers cutting down on computer's use,  and our Google Docs problem of today's earlier post to finish resolving at last.
Whew!
But here it is, and it's a dilly! We scanned this one at 720dpi for the Download, in honor of Amy's day. So it could be blown up to much larger than original dimensions and then mounted if one so desires. :)
Tomorrow, I hope to have for you here the wordless version as a page frame, in regular printable format as well as png for the Digi crowd's pleasure.
For right now, tho', it's time to say Happy Happy Birthday to one lovely, lovely woman who is not only fun to know, but who has a graceful way of sharing her lovely self with others.
Tho' it's almost time to call it a day,

Happy Birthday Amy!!
This one's for you!!!!!!
So sorry it took so long to accomplish!!!! We almost did not meet that objective!!!
xo
Rose

7/20/11 P.S.:
We are adding the frame from this image in two ways today. Both are in the 720 dpi size used for this special surprise, but one has a special purpose. It is in a png format for those whose creative arsenals include the ability to manipulate imagery via digital means. This is a first here. We hope the visitor may make use of all of the versions we're supplying with this post.
It may become a tradition here--who knows?
Also, please excuse the gaps which Blogger chooses to add between our items. We have yet to figure out when this happens or how. Go figure!
;)

PPS Color Me™ Page: A Fairy's Magic Fountain

It's quiet activity time when the heat soars and we haven't got time to hit the water or duck inside a movie theatre. I like to think of these hotter than heck afternoons, our "dog days" of summer, as free time for more creative fun.
Here we have a fun little scene from our archives, this one about a fairy, an apparently talking (?) fish, one girl, and one boy. There is no doubt what is more interesting here, the fairy or the fountain. I guess I would like a dip in the refreshing spray, or a full dunk as deep as I could get! ;)
But for now, let's imagine how that fairy's story might be told. Who are the two children in this picture? And where does this picture show? It's obviously a very formal garden, with fruit trees at one end. How many ways could we tell this story? What sort of ending might be more fun? Or, how does a fish get to have so much importance in a storyline?
I'll leave the answers up to the viewer, of course!
As is our habit here at PPS, we include both versions of the picture's look for you. Each item will print within borders on an 8 1/2" by 11" regular sheet of office paper. Our printable Downloadable Versions of old and B&W looks come reformatted for print, something we neglected to do before in our other posts with larger sized ephemera, and are seeking to rectify soon in our older posts, wherever necessary.
We hope you'll enjoy our fun with Fairies this hot weekend.
Happy Creativity!
